A visit to the Church of St. Mathews School
The Academy of Well Being Society, Udaipur organised an event coordinated by their president Professor Vijayalaxmi Chauhan for children from the orphanage 'St Mathew School' on 9th October 2008. Princess Padmaja Kumari Mewar was Chief Guest on the occasion at which there were various competitive events. In response to a special request the Princess told the children a story to which they rapturously applauded.

Princess Padmaja attends Fortune - The Most Powerful Women Summit in California, USA
Fortune – The Most Powerful Women's Summit took place this year at the Four Seasons Aviara, California from the 1st October to the 3rd October 2008. Now in its tenth year, the summit is the world's premiere gathering of women leaders in business, government, academia, philanthropy, and the arts providing a forum for decision making and the exchange of ideas.
This year's theme was Extraordinary Talent. The line-up included Pepsi Cola, Chairman and CEO Indra Nooyi, Melinda Gates, and Warren Buffett. The programme, that specifically avoided speeches, was diverse and facilitated energetic and provocative conversation.
For the third consecutive year Princess Padmaja Kumari Mewar of Udaipur has participated as an invitee at the summit. Prominent speakers in 2008 included Angela Ahrendts, Chief Executive Officer, Burberry Group PLC and Christiane Amanpour, Chief International Correspondent, CNN.
