• In October 2008 NDTV joined hands with the Ministry of tourism in a National campaign to showcase the rich and diverse cultural heritage that is Incredible India. A distinguished panel of judges, including Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar of Udaipur, was appointed to select a number of natural and man-made wonders from each state of India. Shriji travelled to Jaipur to attend a ceremony on the 4th March when the seven wonders of Rajasthan, voted by the public, were announced at the Rambagh Palace, Jaipur. The selection was put to a vote at national level. NDTV hosted a gala event in New Delhi, at the Taj Palace Hotel on the 30th March where the Seven Wonders of India were announced.
The “Seven Wonders” selected were : The Red Fort; Jaisalmer Fort; Nalanda University; The Sun Temple of Konark; Meenakshi Temple; The Dholavira site; Khajuraho, Tawang Monastery in Arunachal Pradesh and the Golden Temple in Amritsar.
