Birth anniversary celebration of Maharana Sangram Singh I

The 536th birth anniversary of Maharana Sangram Singh I was celebrated at Zenana Mahal, The City Palace Museum, Udaipur on 9th April 2018. In the first celebration of its kind the trust celebrated Maharana Sangram Singh I jayanti and shared his ideology, bravery and righteous to students and tourists visiting the City Palace Museum.

The program started by showering the flowers on the statue of Rana Sanga followed by the inspirational play 'Gaurav Gatha Rana Sanga ki' based on important incidents of his life. It was written and directed by Mr. Vilas Janve and produced by Martand Foundation, Udaipur. The play is based on the historical references from the book of Pt. Harivilas Sarda 'Hindupati Maharana Sanga'. Maharana Sanga was a real warrior and spent his entire life fighting battles. He got 80 wounds on his body but despite of all these he never took rest and was always ready for the next battle.

Writer director Mr. Vilas Janve included all the 9 rasas of natyashashtra to make it a strong play. All the characters were beautifully performed by the young artist Mr. Manish Sharma who was the solo actor in the play.

Mr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar and Mrs. Nivritti Kumari Mewar witnessed the play along with the students of MMPS, Udaipur and G.D. Goenka School, Udaipur. Back to back four shows were performed. The visitors were gifted a lapel pin and souvenir of Maharana Sangram Singh I.

An exhibition with 15 panels showcased the life of Maharana Sanga at The Zenana Mahal, Udaipur was also appreciated by the visitors and guests.
