Students from School of Planning and Architecture

A group of 34 students from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi on an educational tour visited the City Palace Museum, Udaipur on 5th October 2018. The students were lead by Mr. Shuvojit Sarkar, Assistant Professor and faculties Ms. Komika Walia, Mr. Amit Prabhakar and Mr. Amardeep Labana.

The team conducted site surveys, research, documentation and investigations at the site. The students were given access to the structures, building and architectural importance with relevant documents and factual information, drawings.

Lecture on History and technology of Glass at Sahitya Sansthan

Sahitya Sansthan, JRNRV University organized a lecture of eminent scholar, Archaeologist 'Prof. Alok Kanongo' from IIT, Gandhinagar, Gujarat on the 'History and Technology of Glass' on 4th October 2018. Prof. Alok has worked in many parts of Europe and US in connection of his visiting professorship or for participating conferences. He has also conducted archaeological excavation at Kopia, an ancient glass production center in India. Dr. Hansmukh Seth, Associate Curator, The City Palace Museum, Udaipur attended this lecture as MMCF representative.

Developments in Maharana Mewar Special Library

Maharana Mewar Special Library (MMSL) is a world-class special library. By the end of this month MMSL has a collection of more than 34681 books of different varieties. Library has special collection of books on Literature, Religion, History, Arts, Zoology, Sports and General Geography about different part of India and globe and rare collection of books on Mewar dynasty

22 new books were received in this month and all the books were processed in Accession Register. Classification of the books was done by Dewey decimal classification 19th Rev. Edition, Cataloguing (AACR II) and Bibliography; details uploaded in Library housekeeping software. Libsys and Eternal Mewar web site http://eternalmewar.in/mmsl. Stamping, tagging and scanning was also performed all these books.
