Documentation of murals in Chitram Ki Burj

Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation has commissioned a detailed documentation of the murals in Chitram Ki Burj, a small room in the Mardana Mahal of The City Palace Museum, Udaipur. It is believed that a majority of the wall paintings date back to Maharana Bhim Singh (r. 1778-1828 CE). Court scenes, festivals, processions, boat rides and various scenes from the streets of the city are depicted in these murals. Historically, these wall paintings are of immense value and hence are being documented. The project is supported by The Friends of Heritage Preservation (FOHP), USA. Mr. Sanjay Dhar from New Delhi is currently engaged in the documentation of these wall paintings in Chitram Ki Burj. The team worked from 20th September to 1st October 2018.
