Differently able visitors at The City Palace Museum, Udaipur

A group of 14 persons, of which 6 people in wheelchair and 8 belgian helpers led by group leader Ms. Anne Spilliaert from Decalage Asbl visited The City Palace Museum, Udaipur on 14th November 2018. The group is a non-profit organisation that promotes inclusion of disabled people through leisure activities since 2001. The trip was planned in association with Enable Travel which is powered by Cox and Kings.

The City Palace Museum launched the Universal Access Plan in order to make tourism accessible to all visitors, including the differently abled and senior citizens. The plan is to facilitate easy access through the museum's narrow corridors, small gates and pathways which were previously not designed for a modern museum. The museum has also been equipped with ramps, lifts and audio-visual rooms. This shall bring a positive change in terms of tourism especially for differently abled and senior citizens who earlier found it inconvenient to visit the Palace. The trip was supported by MMCF.
