Jodhpur from 13th November 2019 to 23rd November 2019 with an objective to conduct advanced material conservation training courses that will help further train practicing conservators and establish standards of competence in the field of art conservation. The study included identify signs of deterioration of textiles, express how these textiles deteriorate, how instruments and materials can be employed for their conservation, different stitching techniques used in textile conservation and how to give support (lining) to a fragile textile. Principal materials and different types of fabrics used for preparing/making old textiles from the various regions of India. Mr. Rajiv Paliwal, Technical Assistant (Textiles), MMCF represented MMCF and took part in this program.

Visit of Dr. Nora Kennedy, Ms. Tiana Meller, Mr. Peter Mustardo and Mr. Michael Shuter

Dr. Nora Kennedy, Phototgraph Conservator and Sherman Fairchild Conservator in Charge of the Department of Photograph Conservation, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Ms. Tiana Meller, Photograph Conservator and In Charge of Conservation at the George Eastman Museum Rochester, New York, home of Eastman Kodak Company; Mr. Peter Mustardo, Director of The Better Image, New York and Mr. Michael Shuter, Freelance Photographer, New York visited The City Palace Museum, Udaipur. They were briefed about the working of conservation department and were impressed at the congenial nature of all in the conservation section. The team was impressed by the photography section, its shelving and design considering the climatic system.

Visit of Ms. Rosalie Anderson MacDowell

American actress and fashion model Ms. Rosalie Anderson MacDowell and her friends visited The City Palace Museum on 04th November, 2019. She was greeted by Dr. Mayank Gupta, Deputy Secretary – Development, Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation. The actress visited the Mardana Mahal, Zenana Mahal and other parts of the Palace and was briefed about the history and other details.
