Maps Conservation Project

The Maharana of Mewar Research Institute (MMRI) has a vast collection of around 2000+ geographical and topographical maps, blueprints, architectural drawings etc. dating from the 19th century onwards. A comprehensive conservation project of this collection was initiated in mid August 2020, at the Museum's Conservation Laboratory.

Few maps have been transferred to the laboratory and its written and photographic documentation has been completed. The conservation treatments are being undertaken by the in-house Conservators, Ms. Anuja Mukherjee and Ms. Bhasha Shah, under the guidance of Conservation Consultants, Ms. Saloni Ghuwalewala and Mr. S. Giri Kumar.
