TRIBUTE TO DAME DIANA RIGG

(20th July 1938 - 10th Sept 2020)

We fondly remember your visits to Bikaner and Gajner

We fondly recall the visits of late Dame Diana Rigg to Bikaner in 2000 and 2006. It was a pleasure to have hosted such a remarkable personality, genuine and sincere about her love for the people of Rajasthan.

The photographs from our Media Office archives are a tribute to Dame Diana Rigg, capturing the warmth of her personality and the time she spent with all of us in January 2000, well, that makes it twenty years ago!

What a floral welcome at Bikaner Railway Station for the Rigg siblings! Both sister and brother were completely overwhelmed by the love, affection and mountains of garlands they were covered with by their well-wishers and friends in Bikaner.

A private saloon coach of the Indian Railways had been booked for the journey of Dame Diana Rigg in January 2000. Along with her brother, Mr Hugh Rigg, and Mr Trevor Fishlock of The Telegraph, she experienced this rather rousing red carpet welcome with a local band on the railway platform!
