Holika Dahan Ceremony 2022

Holi, the festival of colors is one of the most popular Indian festivals. It is celebrated at the onset of spring. This year it was celebrated on 17th March 2022.

The palace priest performed the pooja rituals with the Mewar Family members including Mr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, Mrs. Nivritti Kumari Mewar, Master Haritraj Singh Mewar, Miss. Mohlakshika Kumari Mewar, Miss Praneshwari Kumari Mewar, Thakur Sahib Lokendra Singh Rathore of Kotri and Miss Lokaviaa Mewar Rathore. Holika Dahan was performed after Parikram or Circumambulation of the Holika effigy.

International Museum Day

Activities and Initiatives for Persons on the Autism Spectrum and with Intellectual Disabilities, on International Museum Day.

The Museum's target audience for International Museum Day (18th May 2022) was Persons on Autism Spectrum and those with Intellectual Disabilities. The International Council of Museum's (ICOM) sub-themes of 'The power of innovating on digitalisation and accessibility' and 'The power of community building through education' was tapped on, in the series of initiatives made for the occasion.

The Museum worked closely with and invited two institutes from Udaipur, namely Sankalp Pediatric Rehabilitation Center, and Prachya Shodh Peeth Samiti (Prayas). Museum representatives, Ms. Chelsea Santos, Assistant Curator, and Mr. Sourabh Sharma, Curatorial Intern, made multiple visits to their institutions for their audience research, to prepare better for their visit.
