World Living Heritage Festival

An Introduction

The Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation (MMCF), Udaipur has always taken the responsibility of preserving the remarkable tangible and intangible cultural heritage of erstwhile Mewar very seriously. This enormous responsibility is fulfilled through a comprehensive and informed set of initiatives. These include the maintenance and continuous development of the City Palace Complex, Udaipur with its museum, local culture and celebration of festivals, documenting and researching cultural practices and creating forums for knowledge transfer. The City Palace Museum has been the seat for heritage, knowledge, rituals and celebrations for centuries and continues with this tradition in contemporary times through the initiatives of MMCF.

Today, MMCF is keen to share its best-practices and conservation experience with all interested parties and like-minded institutions. MMCF has therefore launched an ambitious knowledge transfer initiative in addition to its implementable conservation programme.
