Accommodation and Getting Around

We will be happy to host you at any of our hotels located within or in close proximity to the City Palace Complex. As participants at World Living Heritage Festival 2018 you are our special guests and will enjoy a 20% discount on the winter package at the following hotels:

Please contact the hotel of your choice to make bookings. To avail the special discount, make sure to mention your registration number while booking. Your registration fee for WLHF does not include accommodation; these costs will be borne by you.

Apart from the above mentioned Eternal Mewar hotels, Udaipur has several hotels, guesthouses, hostels, and homestays to suit every budget. Since majority of the events on the programme will take place in the City Palace Complex, we recommend that you book accommodation within the City Palace Complex or in a nearby area of the old city in order to enjoy convenient access to all events.

The city centre is almost as old as the City Palace itself and is made up of enchanting streets, courtyards, and ghats. Built as it was over many centuries, the old city and its narrow streets do not easily cater to cars. If you are staying outside the City Palace Complex and/or would like to hire a vehicle during your stay, we recommend hiring two-wheelers or simply hiring rickshaws as you go. If you plan to hire a car or bring your own, please check if your hotel provides parking space. There is also a government run parking space located on Bhatiyani Chauhatta.

What To Wear, What To Carry

The dress code for the festival is smart casual. We would recommend comfortable footwear since the City Palace Complex is spread out over a large area connected by multiple stairways and sloping paths.

Each day’s programme is action-packed and includes multiple sessions by renowned experts, performances by leading artists, experiential workshops, and heritage walks. Several of these events will take place at special venues within the City Palace Complex which are not usually open to the public. We urge you to make the most of your time here by being present and actively participating in all sessions and activities.

The Rajasthani sun is majestic at sunrise and sunset, but set in Udaipur’s azure skies, it can be unrelenting during the day – make sure to carry a hat or other appropriate sun-protection!
