Melodies for Shree Ram: City Palace Celebrates Consecration

In joyous celebration of the consecration of Shree Ram Lalla within the magnificent Ram Mandir rising on Ayodhya's sacred Ram Janmabhoomi, the Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation hosted a two-day program of soulful bhajan dedicated to Lord Shri Ram.

Held at the historic Zanana Mahal, the City Palace Museum, renowned artist Mr. Kapil Wadhwani and his troupe captivated audiences with their devotional renditions on January 20th and 21st, 2024.

Udaipur's City Palace shimmered in an auspicious glow of orange lights for the occasion. Further reflecting this momentous event, the revered idol of Shree Ram, enshrined within the Lakhu Ghokada of the City Palace Museum and dating back to 1700-1800 CE, received special adornments of fragrant garlands and vibrant flowers. The Mewar Royal Family, holding the distinction of being the world's longest-reigning dynasty, proudly traces its lineage back to Shree Ram himself.

Shree Ram Lalla Consecration Ceremony - A Moment of Fulfillment for Mr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar

In a moving address, Mr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, Trustee, Maharana of Mewar Foundation recounted his experience attending the momentous consecration ceremony of Shree Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. "Words cannot express the emotions surrounding this event," Mr. Mewar said. "For 500 years, all of India has awaited this day. Witnessing its completion was truly a privilege." He elaborated on the significance of being present at the inauguration of the newly built temple. "It was not just a matter of good fortune to be there," he said, "but also the opportunity to receive the first darshan in the sacred new temple.
