Molela Terracotta Art - Rajsamand -This 5,000-year-old ancient folk art originates from Molela village in Rajsamand, Rajasthan. Molela terracotta plaques serve as portable shrines and ritual offerings in tribal worship. They depict scenes from mythology, folklore, local legends, festivals, and nature. Visitors also had the opportunity to enjoy a hands-on experience with this unique art form. Throughout the museum, art came to life. Artists gave live demonstrations, interacted with visitors, and shared their creative processes. Lakshmi Chowk hosted hands-on workshops where children and adults shaped clay alongside artisans. At Baadi Mahal, the sounds of the Ravanhatha and flute echoed through the palace, immersing guests in Rajasthan's musical heritage. A custom-designed photo booth at Moti Chowk, inspired by palace architecture, allowed visitors to take home memories framed in royal elegance. The Museum also welcomed students from MMPS School and children from Hansraj Children Home, ensuring that the joy and inspiration of the celebration reached audiences who have not always had access to museum spaces. The curatorial team led engaging tours and hosted pottery workshops and interactive sessions, making heritage education accessible, hands-on, and meaningful.

Promoting Heritage Crafts: City Palace Museum Hosts Crafts Business Accelerator Program

The Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation supported the Crafts Business Accelerator Program 2025 and facilitated the visit of the group to the City Palace Museum on 25th May 2025. This initiative aims to encourage the important work being carried out by IICD, IIM Udaipur, and the Kalhath Foundation in the field of traditional crafts and design.

Miniature Artist Mr. Rahul Soni Presents Artwork to Shriji

Mr. Rahul Soni, miniature artist, called on Shriji Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar at The City Palace, Udaipur on 21st May, 2025.

During the meeting, Mr. Soni showcased his exquisite miniature artwork of Maharana Pratap. The piece is distinguished by the use of natural stone colors and 24K gold, exemplifying the delicate artistry of micro miniature painting.
