Surya Chopad

The room is beautifully painted with flower motifs. Here in the Surya Gokhada, the Sun emblem overlooks The Manek Chowk below. Large majority of the local population especially of older generation only had their first meal of the day after worshipping the Sun and hence on cloudy days they could look at this ornamental Sun and fulfil their requirement.

In the Surya Chopad is the gold plated Sun motif, looking towards the Manek Mahal where the Maharana would sit on a high perch and have his meal after paying obeisance to the Sun God. On the lower walls of this room are embossed reliefs of village scenes attributed to the reign of Maharana Bhupal Singh. Another room in the south west corner again beautifully painted, houses the painting of Maharana Bheem Singh greeting then Capt. (later Lt. Col) James Tod in the courtyard. The Surya Chopad room opens into the most spectacular courtyard of the whole Palace, The Mor Chowk.

In May 2025, the trust extended support to Tarun Soni and Mr. Suhail Hasan, Class XII; Mahendra Singh, Class IX; Mahendra Singh, Class XI and Parikshit Singh Ranawat, Class XI, Hari Pratap Singh Shaktawat, 3-year BA degree programme at Jindal Global Law to support their educational pursuits.
