Statues of Maharana Pratap and Rana Punja Unveiled in Rama Village Agrand ceremony marked by reverence and patriotic fervour was held in Rama village on 11th May 2026, to unveil the newly installed statues of the legendary Maharana Pratap and his steadfast ally Rana Punja. The occasion witnessed the presence of a large gathering of villagers, community leaders and eminent dignitaries, including chief guests Shri Awadhesh Chaitanya Brahmachari Maharaj and Shriji Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, along with Cabinet Minister Mr. Babulal Kharadi, Udaipur MP Mr. Mannalal Rawat and other distinguished guests.Addressing the gathering, Shriji Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar emphasised that the Battle of Haldighati was far more than a military conflict—it was a united struggle of the thirty-six communities of Mewar to uphold their self-respect, freedom and unwavering patriotism. He paid glowing tribute to Rana Punja and the valiant Bhil warriors, whose resolute defence of the Aravalli hills proved an unyielding barrier against the Mughal forces, securing them an enduring place in Mewar's history. Shriji also highlighted the extraordinary loyalty of Maharana Pratap's companions, recalling the supreme sacrifice of Chetak, who laid down his life while protecting his master on the battlefield and Ramprasad, the Maharana's elephant, whose devotion was so profound that he succumbed to grief after being captured by the enemy. |
