Lakshmi Chowk, The Zenana Mahal

Chowmukha at Lakshmi Chowk

The Staircase now descends down to Lakshmi Chowk, constructed during the reign of Maharana Karan Singh (r. 1620 - 1628 CE). These are secular structures bound by convention, bearing low ceiling, multi-niches and perforated windows so that the royal ladies could look out but could not be seen from the outside. The Lakshmi Chowk is now used for various celebrations, ceremonies and events.
