Visit of Students and Young professionals from the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), India
On the 1st January an international delegation of Students and Young professionals from the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), India visited The City Palace Museum. Mr. Bhupendra Singh Auwa, Deputy Secretary, Administration, Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation (MMCF) welcomed them and accompanied the delegates on a tour of the Museum whilst giving them a brief history of the Culture and Heritage of Udaipur and the Mewar Region.
The group was in Udaipur to participate in a course 'Challenge of the Balance on Policies, Politics and the Practices of Environmental Management in the Developing World'. CSE regularly conducts these courses to engage with future decision makers and as a way of informing students on the perspective in developing countries and how they will tackle the need to develop with consideration to the environment.

Fellowship awarded to Ms. Sonika Soni by The Indian Foundation of Arts
Ms. Sonika Soni, Documentation Assistant from the Pictorial Archives of the Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation, Udaipur has received a national fellowship under 'Arts Research and Documentation programme' for 2010-2011 from the 'India foundation for the Arts'. This fellowship has been granted to her for her research in the field of Indian miniature paintings, post Independence and focuses on the present status of traditional family's of artists. Her research will conclude with an exhibition of art works presenting the innovative ploys adopted by traditional painters working under the canopy of family tradition. |

Visit of Participants and Members of XVI National Youth Festival 2011
Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation provided complimentary passes to 1835 participants and members of the XVI National Youth Festival (NYF) 2011 who visited The City Palace Museum during their stay in Udaipur from 12th to 16th January 2011.
For the first time Udaipur hosted 5000 participants from all 35 States and Union Territories took part in the XVI National Youth Festival 2011 (NYF) from the 12th to 16th January 2011. Government officials and number of young enthusiasts were joined by the presence of foreign delegations from ASEAN and SAARC. The Government of Rajasthan organized the festival in collaboration with the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) and National Service Scheme (NSS).
Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation also sponsored mementos in the form of wall clock, specially designed for all 5000 participants of National Youth Festival 2011.
