Swaranjali 2014 - Guru Poornima, a celebration at Shree Eklingnath ji Temple

On the auspicious occasion of Guru Poornima, worshippers observed traditional rituals and enjoyed a Hindustani Classical Musical event “Swaranjali” at Shree Eklingnath ji Temple, Kailashpuri.

Guru Poornima is an Indian festival dedicated to spiritual and academic teachers observed on the full moon day in the Hindu month of Ashad (July-August). The festival was attended by many devotees. The event was jointly organized under the banner of Shree Eklingji Trust and the Maharana Kumbha Sangeet Kala Trust.

Distinguished artists gave a performance including Ms. Sunita Amin (Dhrupad Gayan), Mr. Debanjan Bhatacharjee (Sarod), Ms. Rita Dev (Hindustani Classical), Mr. Adarsh Saxena (Hindustani Classical), Mr. Rohan Dasgupta (Sitar) and Mr. Afzal Hussain (Dhrupad Gayan).


 

The head priest from Shree Eklingnath Ji Temple presented Saropaav to all the performers. To mark the occasion, devotees observed Abhishek Aarti, Shringaar Aarti, Rajbhog Aarti, Badi Aarti and Shayan Aarti at the temple.

The supporting artists in sangat were Mr. Sanjay Agle (Pakhawaj), Ms. Sampa Sarkar (Tanpura), Mr. Sourabh Dehlwi (Tanpura), Mr. Sukhad Munde (Pakhawaj), Mr. Patti Khan (Sarangi), Mr. Sudhir Yardi (Harmonium), Mr. Nakul Mishra (Tabla), Mr. Deepak Singh (Tabla) and Mr. Gautam Pal (Tabla). Mr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar of Udaipur and Mrs. Nivritti Kumari Mewar also visited Shree Eklingnath ji Temple, Udaipur.
