World Photography Day - 19th August 2018

In a constantly transient world, the 'museum' has a very different approach in the way it attempts to connect with its visitors. It has to make itself relevant in its communication with the visitor. In the same endeavour, The City Palace Museum, Udaipur organized a Photography Trail from 17th - 31st August 2018 to engage and captivate its visitors.

On the occasion of World Photography Day, different spaces of The City Palace Museum were made to come alive. Panels with vintage shots of Tripoliya, elephant beds, Darikhana-kiPol, Palki Khana, Zenana Deodhi, Ganesh Deodhi, Rai Angan and Mor Chowk were displayed at the said locations.

Visitors could get a sense of what and how these spaces were put to use back in its day. A fun activity in the form of a photography trail to discover these vintage shots, kept the visitors guessing what was next in store. Simultaneously, a Photography Competition themed 'Museum, Moments and Monuments,' was organized by The Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation from 19th August 2018 to 10th September 2018. The selected best would receive a grand prize. Together, these activities served as an interesting blend of old and new; enabling visitors to view The City Palace through a different lens.
