TMS update

TMS (The Museum System) is one of the most widely-used museum collection management softwares in the world. The City Palace Museum, Udaipur, is the first Museum in India that purchased this software, using it to successfully manage records related to over 34,000 objects from the collection. Recently TMS has been updated from its 2012 version to the 2018 version.

Conservation work of arms and armours

Conservation work of arms and armours collection of The City Palace Museum, Udaipur is in progress. A team of three conservators are working under the direction of Dr. Vandana Singh and Prof. Sukhvir Singh from Center of Conservation and Research Expert LLP, New Delhi. A new lab has been developed in the Museum complex for the same.

Reorganization of the photographic collection is in progress. Six conservators are working under the direction of Mr. S. Girikumar. Paintings on paper from the Museum collection are being conserved by S. Girikumar and Saloni Ghuwalewala in a state of the art conservation lab. A team of three conservators is working with them.

A new exhibition of photographs from the collection of The City Palace Museum, Udaipur is in its final stages of installation and will be open to the public from mid October

Exhibiting panels celebrating World Tourism Day -2018

Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation is following the theme of 'Tourism and Digital Transformation' selected by World Tourism Organization this year to celebrate the World Tourism day - 2018. MMCF is exhibiting 7 panels from 27th September 2018 to 10th October 2018 at venues Zenana Mahal, The City Palace Museum, Udaipur; Pacific Institute of Technology, Pacific University, Udaipur; College of Science, M B College, Mohanlal Sukhadia University Udaipur; Techno India NJR Institute of Technology, Udaipur; Sajjangarh Fort with Tourism Deptartment, Government of Rajasthan, Udaipur.

The panels showcase the digital transformation of The City Palace Museum, Udaipur. The introduction of TMS (The Museum System), one of the most widely-used museum collection management software in the world has been installed. It helps museums and other institutions to collect, manage and share information regarding the world's cultural heritage

Publication of Haqiqat Bahidas, for hundreds of years the daily routine and other important events of the Maharanas of Mewar were meticulously recorded by hand, in what are called Haqiqat Bahidas. Maharana Mewar Historical Publications Trust, a unit of Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation, Udaipur has published the Haqiqat Bahidas of Maharanas: Maharana Fateh Singh, Sajjan Singh, Shambhu Singh and Maharaj Kumar Bhupal Singh, heir-apparent period.
