497th Birthday Celebrations of Maharana Udai Singh II

The 497th birthday of the founder of Udaipur, Maharana Udai Singh II was celebrated by Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation, Udaipur at the Lakshmi Chowk, Zenana Mahal, The City Palace, Udaipur on 11th September 2019. An initiative was taken by the foundation where students from schools from Udaipur were invited and asked to display their model of heritage sites. In which more than 16 schools of the city participated. Participating students made models of various historical heritage of the city and displayed them at Zenana Mahal for the visiting tourists.

Students of MMPS, MMVM, Central Academy, The Scholar Arena English Medium School, Saint Anthony Secondary Secondary School, Alok Secondary School, Wisdom Public School participated.

Mr. Bhupendra Singh Auwa, Administrator in Chief, Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation, Udaipur, encouraged the teachers and students of the schools by felicitating them and presenting them with certificates and gifts.

Celebrating World Tourism Day

United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) has chosen India as the host country to celebrate World Tourism Day 2019 on the theme 'Tourism and Jobs: A better future for all'. Celebrated every September 27 around the world, the purpose of World Tourism Day (WTD) is to foster awareness among the international community on the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic value. The event seeks to address global challenges outlined in the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and highlight the contribution the tourism sector can make in reaching these goals.

To mark the occasion Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation conducted a Quiz Competition for its staff members on the 27th September 2019 at Khush Mahal, The City Palace Museum, Udaipur. Total 5 teams with 5 participants were created, Goverdhan Sagar, Janna Sagar, Fateh Sagar, Lake Pichola and Swarup Sagar.

Team Janna Sagar was declared winners after the final round of the competition. Dr. Ravi Bhatia was the Quiz Master for the occasion. Judges for the occasion were Mr. Qamer Siddiqui, Ms. Jyoti Jasol and Mr. Sanjay Datta. Mr. Bhupendra Singh Auwa felicitated the participating teams and presented Souvenir for the wining team.
