Visit of Dr. Shantaram K. Talegaonkar and wife, Dr. Sunita Talegaonkar

Dr. Talegaonkar and his wife are both from the field of Medicine. Together they share a keen interest in the Arts and as such visited The City Palace Museum, Udaipur on 15th February 2020. Dr. Shantaram K. Talegaonkar has served on the Board of Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, U.S.A for ten years, as also on their acquisition committee. He is presently a member of the Board of Visitors at the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, U.S.A. He has also been associated with the Smithsonian Museums, U.S.A. Ms. Chelsea Santos, Assistant Curator, toured them around the photograph and painting galleries. They also visited the Painting Conservation Laboratory and were briefed by the Conservators about the various stages of treatment awarded to paintings based on the condition the objects are in.

VIP Visit

Visit of Member Board of Trustees, Smithsonian Institution

Mr. Antoine W. Van Agtmael, Chair, Smithsonian's National Museum of Asian Art, Washington D.C. visited The City Palace Museum, Udaipur on 14th February 2020, along with his wife Ms. Emily Van Agtmael, and friends, Mr. David Kendall and Ms. Anne. Mr. Agtmael, also Member on the Board of Trustees at the Smithsonian Institution.

At the Museum they made visits to Zenana Mahal, Amar Mahal Gallery: Splendour of Silver - Reflecting the finest of Silver smithy, Jas Prakash Gallery: Architecture and Conservation Exhibition and visit to the Conservation Laboratory where the Conservators briefed them about the ongoing project of conservation of Mewar paintings which would travel to the Smithsonian's Freer and Sackler Gallery, U.S.A for a forthcoming exhibition.

Visit of The Right Honourable Gilbert Timothy George Lariston Elliot Murray Kynynmound and Lady Diana Minto

On 15th February 2020 The Right Honourable Gilbert Timothy George Lariston Elliot Murray Kynynmound, 7th Earl of Minto with his wife Lady Diana Minto and their friends Mr. Andrew Hay and Ms. Verginia Hay visited The City Palace Museum. His great grandfather the 4th Earl of Minto the then Governor General and Viceroy of India from 1905 to 1910 laid thr Foundation Stone of Minto Hall, also called Durbar Hall. They were received by Mr. Bhupendra Singh Auwa, Administrator in Chief, Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation at Moti Chowk.
