There were 40 local post offices working in this system during the reign of Maharana Bhupal Singh (r. 1930 - 1955 CE). Maharana Bhupal Singh initiated the new hand stamps, which was portrayed by Maharana's pictures. The parcel post was introduced in 1931 CE and postal charged according to weight and distance carried. The Brahmani Dak system was continued till 1950 CE under the Patronage of Maharanas.

The City Palace, Udaipur Postal Extension Counter was opened for providing postal services to public in 1998 under the patronage of Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar. It was provided that the Government of India would pay Rs.11 only per month as a token rent for the Palace Extension Counter of Post Office.

Ashwa Poojan Ceremony

Ashwa Poojan commemorates the bond between the Rajputs and the horse. It marks the grand finale to the Navratri festivities at the City Palace in Udaipur. This year the ceremony was confined to pooja and rituals at Leela Ki Paiga, Palace stables The City Palace, Udaipur as of COVID protocols. Miss. Mohlakshika Kumari Mewar along with Miss. Praneshwari Kumari Mewar and Master Haritraj Singh Mewar did the Ashwa Poojan ceremony on the 24th October 2020.

Project Chitram

The Museum organized an online session titled Project Chitram, on 16th November 2020. It explored the visual narratives of the 18th19th centuries old murals at Chitram Ki Burj, and the measures used to preserve and conserve them! The Guest Speaker, Mr. Sanjay Dhar, Paintings Conser vator and Heritage Management Consultant, spoke about in detail, the onsite treatments and care awarded to the murals. Dr. Hansmukh Seth, Associate Curator and Ms. Chelsea Santos, Assistant Curator, diced into the visuals and narratives of the paintings, use of various spaces in the palace, and also traced the structural changes and evolution in the architecture, as depicted in these rich, resourceful murals at Chitram Ki Burj.
