"An ode to the great ruler of Mewar" Musical session

The ArtX Company's initiative, Ghar Se Museum, in partnership with Paytm Insider, brought together a curated selection from the best Museums across the country; giving audiences a chance to experience India's art, culture and heritage from the comfort of their homes.

The City Palace Museum, Udaipur was a proud part of this virtual celebration of Museums for the second time.

The Museum's first event was 'From Survival to Combat: An exploration of the Arms of Mewar', a lecture by Associate Curator, Dr. Hansmukh Seth, held on 27th November 2020. The event looked at the changing contexts of survival and combat, and had select rare pieces from the Museum's Arms collection, for audience viewing.

'An ode to the great ruler of Mewar' was a musical session organized by the The City Palace Museum, Udaipur in Ghar Se Museum, an initiative by The ArtX Company, in partnership with Paytm on 28th November 2020.

The participants were taken on a soulful journey, with a performance by Shri Patti Khan, on the Sarangi, accompanied by Pt. Ram Krishna Bose, on the Tabla as they sang praises to the most divine ruler of Mewar, Shree Eklingnath ji! This performance was as an excerpt from the event Swaranjali (2013), held on the auspicious occasion of Guru Poornima, at The City Palace of Udaipur.

The musical piece was introduced by Ms. Rashmi Sharma, Music Executive, Maharana Kumbha Sangeet Kala Trust.

The two-day event was facilitated by Ms. Chelsea Santos, Assistant Curator, on behalf of the Museum.

Celebrating the anniversary of Maharanas of Mewar

Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation from the month of August 2020 to December 2020 celebrated the birth anniversary of Maharanas of Mewar by publishing their work, their achievements in building Mewar in their reign.

This included the 498th birth anniversary of Maharana Udai Singh II on 31st August 2020; 311th birth anniversary of Maharana Jagat Singh II on 29th September 2020; 391st birth anniversary of Maharana Raj Singh I on 02nd November 2020; 348th birth anniversary of Maharana Amar Singh II on 5th December 2020; 220th birth anniversary of Maharana Jawan Singh on 16th December 2020 and 173rd Birth anniversary of Maharana Shambhu Singh on 31st December 2020.
