A demo on digital events by The ArtX Company

The City Palace Museum, Udaipur had collaborated with The Art X Company for International Museums Day 2020, under its Ghar Se Museum Event. As a gesture to acknowledge the previous partnership, the Museum was amongst a few selected Museums to be invited for a demo on digital events, held on 27th August 2020.

The Art X Company operates at the intersection of arts and access. They support cultural organisations whether large or small, in building resilient strategies to reach new audiences and enhance their value to their stakeholders be it funders, patrons, governments and the society at large.

In this new situation of the Pandemic, they added 'Digital Events' as one of their key offerings.

The demo looked at participants as potential early adopters and critical feedback givers to their offering.

As part of this tutorial, the pros, cons, tools available, and the methodology behind creating successful digital events were discussed. Ms. Chelsea Santos, Assistant Curator represented the Museum at this digital session.

Re-opening of Udaya Museum Book Shop

Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation re-opened the Udaya Museum Book Shop at Manek Chowk, The City Palace Udaipur on 28th August 2020.

It is located in the centre of the Manek Chowk, very conveniently approachable for the visiting tourists.

Udaya Museum Book Shop

'Film Preservation and Restoration Workshop, India 2020' by the Film Heritage Foundation

'The first online edition of the 'Film Preservation and Restoration Workshop, India 2020', organized by the Film Heritage Foundation, was held between September 2nd and 19th. The workshop comprised of nine sessions and covered a wide range of topics including 'Film Digitisation, Digital Preservation, Film Restoration, Film Repair, Cataloguing and Conservation of 3D objects, with renowned faculty from around the globe. Art conservators from MMCF, Ms. Anuja Mukherjee and Ms. Bhasha Shah attended these sessions to gain an insight in to the various aspects of Film Preservation.

The workshop also highlighted the effect of the current pandemic on India's Film Heritage and how digital presence is becoming the 'New Normal' for museums all over the world.'
