To commemorate International Museum Day, 18th May 2021, the Sahitya Sansthan, JRN Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University, Udaipur and The Maharaja of Sayajirao University, Baroda, Gujarat, jointly organized an online talk. Prof. (Dr.) Ambika Patel, President, ICOM, India and Dean of Students, Faculty of Fine Arts, The Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda presided as Chief Guest. Dr. Hansmukh Seth, Associate Curator, The City Palace Museum, Udaipur was invited as Guest of Honour. Dr. Seth spoke on 'Social responsibility and Community Participation: Reflection from Museums of Udaipur,' with a special mention of The City Palace Museum, Udaipur and its various initiatives.

Development in Maharana Mewar Special Library

Maharana Mewar Special Library (MMSL) is an excellent resource for scholars and researchers. It has a collection of more than 35463 books on different subjects. The Library has special collection of books dedicated to Literature, Religion, History, Arts, Zoology, Sports and General Geography of different parts of India and the globe, and a rare collection of books on the Mewar dynasty. 19 new books were received in the month of January and all the books were processed in Accession Register. The classification was done by Dewey decimal classification; 19th Rev. Edition, Cataloguing (AACR II) and Bibliography. The details were uploaded in the Library housekeeping software, Libsys, and on the Eternal Mewar web site http://eternalmewar.in/mmsl. Stamping, tagging and scanning were also performed on all these books. Some of the important books which were received in the months of January 2021 are Ved AoshadhiK : Vaidik Medicine Encyclopedia, Antadhvani - Satrange Geet, Strive for perfection : Celebrating 110 years of the spirit of Ecstasy, Ishwariya Manushya, and Story of India's Unicorns.

Few books were purchased and added in the library archive of MMCF, in the month of January 2021 including Secrets of Indian herbs for good health, Nathdwara paintings from the Anil Relia collection: The portal to Shrinathji, Ved Aoshadhi Kalptaru : Vaidik Medicine Encyclopedia, Gandhi Bhawan: Documenting and Conserving Modern Heritage of India, Food Heritage of Rajasthan, Kavyanjali, Taunk (Kshatriya Kumawat) Mewar ka Itihas, Mewar ka Bheeshmapitamah, Ankahi, Sanson ki Sargam, Parat dar Parat, Darkte Rishte, Kuchh Bachpan Aise Bhi, and The Presidential Years : 2012- 2017.
