Ashwa Poojan Ceremony 2021

Ashwa Poojan commemorates the bond between the Rajputs and the horse. It marks the grand finale to the Navratri festivities at the City Palace in Udaipur. This year the ceremony was confined to pooja and rituals at Leela Ki Paiga, Palace stables The City Palace, Udaipur as of COVID protocols. Miss. Mohlakshika Kumari Mewar did the Ashwa Poojan ceremony on the 14th October 2021.

Iconography based Quiz and Giveaway
Image - Giveaway prize To commemorate the festival of Dussehra (15th October 2021), The City Palace Museum, Udaipur conducted a sculpture based iconography quiz on its Instagram handle, on 12th October 2021. Viewers were given a set of instructions to follow, post which a winner was chosen. Mr. Anshul Sharma from Madhya Pradesh was the recipient of the Divine Gesture Poster (Giveaway).

Florence in the World, The World in Florence

The City Palace Museum, Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation, Udaipur, in a collaborative venture with two institutions from Florence, Italy, namely Fondazione Romualdo Del Bianco and the Life Beyond Tourism - Travel to Dialogue Movement, with the support of Dronah Foundation, Gurgaon, played host to a photography exhibition titled Florence In The World, The World In Florence.

The exhibition was open to visitors from 27th October 2021 onwards, and is housed on the ground floor of Zenana Mahal, The City Palace Museum, Udaipur. It has been conceived and promoted by the Fondazione Romualdo Del Bianco and organized by the Life Beyond Tourism - Travel to Dialogue Movement. This is part of The Florence International Festival, to be held in Florence, Italy, from November 25-26, 2021, and online. The aim is at promoting a human-centred approach to heritage enhancement and travel experience, based on mutual understanding, solidarity and intercultural dialogue. Each panel in the exhibition is equipped with NFC technology; visitors can scan the code to read more about the photographs taken in and around Florence.

Exhibition Poster 'Florence In The World, The World In Florence' Subsequently, a curated exhibition of photographs, based on The City Palace, Udaipur, its vicinity, history, culture and more, will travel to Florence digitally and could be viewed remotely, as also in person, in Florence. The inhouse curators of the travelling exhibition will showcase their work by way of a brief presentation at the Festival. The end product will take the form a catalogue.
