Transit of Artwork to USA Exhibition: A Splendid Land: Paintings from Royal Udaipur

The forthcoming, landmark exhibition, A Splendid Land: Paintings from Royal Udaipur will feature several works from Udaipur's City Palace Museum's collection. The exhibition is organized by the National Museum of Asian Art, in joint partnership with the Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation and Friends of Mewar. It will be staged first at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Asian Art, in Washington, DC, beginning November 19, 2022 - May 14, 2023 and subsequently at the Cleveland Museum of Art in Cleveland, Ohio, from June 3, 2023 - September 10, 2023. The select artworks were inspected, packed and transported by a team from the Star Worldwide Company, on 17th October 2022, under the supervision of the Museum team and conservators. The consignment was accompanied by a member from the Museum team. The objects were then housed at the Company's warehouse in Faridabad, Delhi, prior to being shipped to the USA for the exhibition.

Anniversary celebrations of Maharanas

Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation celebrated 163rd birth anniversary of Maharana Sajjan Singh at The City Palace Museum, Udaipur on the 08th July 2022. This is according to the Vikram Samvat Calendar - dated V.No.1916, Ashadh Shukla Navami (year 1859).

A portrait of Maharana Sajjan Singh was placed at Rai Angan which was garlanded and worshipped, a lamp was lit with chanting and his historical information was displayed for the visiting tourists.

439th birth anniversary of Maharana Karan Singh was celebrated on 9th August 2022 by Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation. The 56th Ekling Diwan of Mewar Maharana This is according to the Vikram Samvat Calendar - dated V.No.1640, Shravan.
