Dinner at Shiv Niwas Palace hosted for Orbis India's new project in Udaipur
Princess Padmaja Kumari Mewar, a member of the board of trustees of Alakh Nayan Mandir, Udaipur, hosted a dinner for the board of trustees and members of the team of the Orbis India Office lead by Mr. G. G. Rao at The Pool Deck, Shiv Niwas Palace, Udaipur on 12th August 2008.
Alakh Nayan Mandir is planning to start a centre of Pediatrics Ophthalmology at Udaipur in association with Orbis International. The center will organize orientation programmes and training for medical and non medical staff.

Shiv Niwas Palace awarded status of 'Heritage Grand'
The Central Classification Committee (HRACC) affiliated to the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, called on Shiv Niwas Palace, the flagship hotel of the HRH Group of Hotels, in order to re-classify the hotel, elevating it to the Heritage Grand category. The visiting committee was chaired by Mr. Bharat Bhusan , Jt. Secretary and Finance Advisor, Ministry of Tourism along with other representatives from the Ministry of Tourism and from within the hotel fraternity.

Painting of Maharana Bhupal Singhji installed at the State Legislative Assembly
Thakur Bhupendra Singh of Auwa, Deputy Secretary – Administration, Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation visited Jaipur to hand over a painting of Maharana Bhupal Singhji to Ms. Sumitra Singh, Speaker, Legislative Assembly. This painting replaced a black and white photograph of Maharana Bhupal Singhji installed at the Legislative Assembly.
The painting worked on by artist Mr. R. D. Parikh is hung in prime position followed by paintings of former governors, Chief Ministers and Speakers as Maharana Bhupal Singhji was the first Raj Pramukh of Rajasthan.
