12th Annual conference of The Tourist Guide Federation of India
The inaugural session of the 12th Annual conference of The Tourist Guide Federation
of India was organized at The Durbar Hall, Fateh Prakash Palace,Udaipur on the 23rd
August 2008. Meetings took place over three days with the inaugural session presided
over by Ms. Kanti Singh, Central State Minister for Culture and Tourism. She applauded
the work done by official guides and their contribution to the tourism industry
and the nation's economy.

Maharaj Kumar Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar of Udaipur attended the inaugural session as
a special guest. In his address, Maharaj Kumar said that as a pioneer of heritage
hospitality, he believed that HRH Group of Hotels has had a major impact on the
success of tourism in India.
Other dignitaries who addressed the audience during thesession included. Mr. Ashok
Sharda, President, Tourist Federation of India ; Mr. Rishi Garg, General Secretary;
Mr. C. Jain, Executive Vice President ; Mr. Vijay Thakur, President, IATO and Ms.
Kiran Maheswari, Member of Parliament.
Ms. Kanti Singh visited the Crystal Gallery, Fateh Prakash Palace during her visit
to The City Palace Complex. She also attended a performance of the Mewar Sound and
Light Show in the evening.

A Visit to Asthal Mandir on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami
Maharaj Kumar Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar of Udaipur visited Asthal Mandir, Udaipur on
24th August 2008 on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami. He offered prayers to the
effigy of Lord Krishna and received blessings from Mewar Mahamandleshwar Mahant
Murli Manohar Sharan Shastri. He also looked at the magnificent display of activities
displayed in honour of Lord Krishna in the temple.
