In traditional Polo throw-in, Princess Bhargavi Kumari Mewar of Udaipur, returning as a Guest of Honour for the 2nd year running, kicked off the final league of the Tournament with Cartier's Managing Director, Mr. Christopher Kilaniotis and the President of the Singapore Polo Club, Mr. Iqbal Jumabhoy. Throughout the duration of the event, the spectators were continuously spoilt with a free-flow of champagne generously supplied by G.H. Munum, and delectable canapés carefully selected by Raffles Hotels & Resorts served on silver platters by their best waiters. The President's Bodyguard of India also entertained the crowd with a spectacular trick riding performance.

The closing of the event was duly celebrated with a grand prize
presentation, which not only saw Team Singapore in their glory, but also individual prizes sponsored by Cartier and La Martina going out to the “Most Valuable Player” Gerardo Mazzini and the “Best Polo Playing Pony” Capilcha, owned by Garcha, while the “Best Hat” and “Best Dressed Gentleman” awards went to Mrs. Tu Vyea Ashurst and Mr. David Worth respectively.
In the 4th year sponsoring the International Polo Tournament, this 6-day Cartier event is nothing short of splendiferous, as one can expect from combining a gentlemen's sport with a luxurious jewelry brand adored by royalties and socialites. Ride to Royalty
Sporting and royal glamour ruled at the Cartier International Polo Tournament held on 18 May at the Singapore Polo Club. 800 stylish spectators , Including guest-of –honour Princess Bhargavi Kumari Mewar of Udaipur, were treated to free-flowing champagne and canapés as they watched a thrilling display of tricks riding and equestrian skill of the Presidents Guard of India. It was followed by the exciting battle between Team Singapore and Germany, ending with the former winning the Cartier Le Maillet d'Or trophy.

Ball of the time
Over 800 local supporters, socialites and royalty witnessed the victory of local boys over Team Germany at the Cartier International Polo 2008 Tournament held in May Guests including Princess Bhargavi Kumari Mewar of Udaipur and Bollywood star Kabir Bedi enjoyed the free flow of Champagne and canapés at the Singapore Polo Club. The club also hosted a gala dinner, Days of the Raj bringing the annual event to a celebrity end.
