National Library Week 2022

Every year from 14th November to 20th November is celebrated as 'National Library Week'. In the year 1968, the Indian Library Association decided to celebrate National Library Week and started the tradition. Since then it has been celebrated as a festival by libraries across India.

Quiz and giveaway

The Quiz and Giveaway was based on the then forthcoming exhibition titled A Splendid Land: Paintings from Royal Udaipur that feature several works from The City Palace Museum , Udaipur's collection.

It was conducted on 5th November 2022, on the Museum's social media platforms. Ms. Nidhi Jain from Udaipur was the lucky winner that received a Museum souvenir as reward.

Building Sensory-Friendly Museum Spaces

This workshop was organized by the Bangalore based Rereeti, in collaboration with The City Palace Museum, Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation, Udaipur, on 10th November 2022. In this specially-catered for heritage and museum professionals workshop, Ms. Chelsea Santos, Assistant Curator, The City Palace Museum, Udaipur, conducted an in-depth interactive session wherein one could learn about building accessible and inclusive physical spaces by understanding sensory-friendly tools, designs, and content. During the session, she drew focus on analysing certain sensory and access-related issues in a given location and provided opportunity for participants to walk through the sensory stimuli that could exist in safe and friendly spaces like a museum, with particular reference to

visitors with sensory processing difficulties. She cited examples of sensory friendly trails, sensory guides, social narratives, and other forms of engaging content that she worked on with the team, for the aforementioned audience segment, at The City Palace Museum, Udaipur.

Pattern Play with Fabrics

To bring in Children's Day, Pattern Play with Fabrics, a fun- filled activity was designed around the Museum's textile collection. It provided participants with hands-on exposure to different types of fabric, textures, patterns and work-on- fabric used in Mewar! One could make their own sample design using reference visuals, touch and feel the sensory
