At Shri Ram Katha by Param Pujya Sadhvi Dr. Vishweshwari Devi ji

On the 1st August 2023 Mr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, Trustee of the Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation attended the Shri Ram Katha by Sadhvi Dr. Vishweshwari Devi ji of Shri Ram Kripadham, Haridwar organized by Dharmik Satsang Samiti at Pushp Vatika, Ambapol, Udaipur from 27th July to 4th August 2023. Sadhvi Dr. Vishweshwari Devi is also associated with cow protection and building cow shed at Veerado ki Dhani (Charla) village in Sujangarh tehsil of Churu district where about 300 old and sick cows are being served and sheltered.

Internships at MMCF

The Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation (MMCF) is pleased to announce the completion of three internships at the City Palace Museum, Udaipur.

Ms. Anamika Singh and Ms. Shruti Suresh, students of Fine Arts at MIT - ADT University, Pune, worked as Curatorial Interns (Museum Education) from January to July 2023.

During their internship, they conceptualized, programmed, and facilitated a range of art-based, hands-on activities, workshops, and games for visitors of all ages. They also worked on developing educational resources for the museum's collection. Ms. Austria Merritt, a student of Architecture at Princeton University, USA, interned at the museum from June to July 2023. She assisted in the development of an exhibition of maps, titled "Picturing Place: Painted and Printed Maps at the Udaipur Court." She worked on the exhibition design, research, and educational resource materials.

Annual Conference of the Museum Association of India

The Museum Association of India organized its annual conference on the theme of "Indian knowledge traditions" at the Mehrangarh Fort Museum in Jodhpur from 4th to 6th August 2023. Museum professionals from all over India participated in the conference. Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation was represented by Dr. Hansmukh Seth, Associate Curator, and Ms. Swati Jain, Research Officer. Dr. Seth presented on "Learning from the Past: Documentation of Traditional Knowledge Practices and Techniques in the City Palace Museum," and Ms. Jain presented on "Preserving the Living Heritage of Mewar." The committee also released its new publication, the Journal of Indian Museums, at the conference. The journal features proceedings from last year's conference, which was hosted by MMCF at the City Palace Museum in Udaipur.

The journal includes papers titled "The City Palace of Udaipur and its Museum's Collection: A Paramount Source of Information," by Dr. Hansmukh Seth, and "Stimulating the Senses through Sensory Exploration: A Visual-Tradition Influenced Strategy for Sensory Play at Udaipur's Palace Museum," by Assistant Curator Chelsea Santos.
