By organizing this World Music Day celebration, the City Palace Museum aimed to raise awareness about its diverse musical artifacts, engage visitors with interactive experiences, and celebrate the universal language of music that transcends cultural boundaries.

Instrumental performance at Baadi Mahal

Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation is committed to preserving the rich cultural heritage of Mewar on same behalf it provide platform to the resident artists to showcase their art every week at the Baadi Mahal of The City Palace Museum.

The artists perform with variety of traditional Indian instruments including santoor, flute, jal tarang, and sitar. The performances are open to the visiting tourists.

On May 04th 2024 Mr. Dharesh Pandya (Flute); May 11th 2024 Mr. Suraj Gandharv (Santoor); May 25th 2024 Mr. Navin Rao (Santoor); June 01st 2024 Mr. Suresh Kumar Prajapat (Sitar); June 08th 2024 Mr. Chandan Prajapat (Flute); June 15th 2024 Mr. Dheeraj Vaishnav (Santoor) and on June 29th 2024 Mr. Nandlal Gandharv (Jal Tarang) presented their performance.

The performances took place at 10:00 AM till 01.00 PM at the Baadi Mahal, City Palace Museum, Udaipur. The instrumental performances are a great way to experience the rich cultural heritage of Mewar for the visitors to the museum.

Anniversary Celebrations of Maharanas

The Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation, dedicated to preserving and promoting Mewar's rich heritage, brings history to life through its annual celebrations of Maharana birth anniversaries. In the months of May and June 2024, the foundation commemorated the legacies of five esteemed Maharanas of Mewar:

Maharana Ratan Singh II (r. 1528 - 1531 CE) - 528th Birth Anniversary on 01st May 2024; Maharana Sangram Singh I (r. 1509-1528 CE) - 542nd Birth Anniversary on 02nd May 2024; Maharana Raj Singh II (r. 1754 - 1761 CE) -281st Birth Anniversary on 21st May 2024; Maharana Hameer Singh II (r. 1773 - 1778 CE) - 263rd Birth Anniversary on 17th June 2024; Maharana Bhagwat Singh (r. 1955 - 1984 CE) - 103rd Birth Anniversary on 22nd June 2024.

The Rai Angan area of the City Palace was decorated for the celebrations, and garlanded portraits of the Maharanas were displayed along with informative standees highlighting their achievements and contributions.

On the 04th May 2024 Ms. Patricia A. Lacina, Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of the United States of America, and Ms. Gloria F. Berbena, Minister Counselor of Public Affairs from the Embassy of the United States of America, visited the City Palace Museum in Udaipur. They were warmly welcomed by Dr. Mayank Gupta, CEO of MMCF. In the visitors book, she wrote: "My third visit, the best yet! Nitin was a great guide and I really enjoyed the new exhibit - beautifully curated. Well done, Thank you for a lovely visit."
