UNESCO World Heritage Centre Director's Inspiring Visit to Udaipur's City Palace Museum On the 07th August 2024 UNESCO World Heritage Centre Director Mr. Lazare Eloundou and Mrs. Elizabeth Christine Guimoyes recently visited the historical and heritage sites of Udaipur. Their tour included significant locations such as the Rai Angan of Mardana Mahal, Mor Chowk, Bari Mahal, and the Silver Gallery of Zanana Mahal within the City Palace. In addition to the museum tour, they expressed their admiration for landmarks such as Jagmandir Island Palace, the Crystal Gallery, and Jagdish Mandir. During their visit to the City Palace, Mr. Eloundou left a poignant message in the visitor's book, stating, "The City Palace has an astonishing and unexpected message to all. Whoever visits this place leaves with a piece of Udaipur history. Thank you to the Royal family for having made this possible." Dr. Mayank Gupta, Chief Executive Officer of the Maharana Mewar Charitable Foundation, welcomed the guests and highlighted the significance of Udaipur's historical heritage. Accompanying them was Mr. Govind Singh Meena, ASI of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. This visit not only honored the City Palace but also elevated the historical heritage of Udaipur to a global platform, showcasing its cultural importance.
