Participation in the National Conference at Manikya Lal Verma Shramjivi College, Udaipur

Manikya Lal Verma Shramjivi College, affiliated with J.R.N. Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University, Udaipur, organized a National Conference on "Indian Temple: Art and Architecture, Philosophy and Social-Cultural Traditions" from September 11 to 12, 2024. Dr. Hansmukh Seth, Associate Curator, The City Palace Museum, Udaipur, represented MMCF at this conference. He presented his research titled "Religious Structures and Related Evidences in South Rajasthan: An Archaeological Perspective," which focused on the continuity of Mother Goddess worship in the region, tracing its origins from the Stone Age to the present. This conference provided a platform for scholars and practitioners to explore the intricate relationship between temple architecture and the cultural, philosophical, and social dimensions of Indian society.

Locks an Art: Visit to Ahmedabad

On September 11-12, Ms. Geetika Kumar, Assistant Curator at the City Palace Museum, along with intern Ms. Vatsla, visited Ahmedabad to study locks at the Houseum: Museum of Locks. During their visit, they met with Dr. Hiren Shah and Dr. Namita Shah, the museum's curators. They conducted an in-depth interview with Dr. Shah, capturing valuable insights into regional craftsmanship, conservation methods, and categorization strategies that will help enhance the preservation and presentation of the City Palace Museum's collection. Additionally, they explored the Lalbhai Dalpatbhai Museum, Kasturbhai Lalbhai Museum, and Arvind-Indigo Gallery, further enriching their understanding of museum practices and collections.

National Seminar Titled "Museums in 2047: Envisioning Indian Museums"

From September 20th to 22nd, 2024, the Allahabad Museum in Prayagraj hosted a three-day national seminar titled "Museums in 2047: Envisioning Indian Museums." This event brought together scholars and experts to explore the future of Indian museums.

The City Palace Museum, Udaipur was represented by Dr. Hansmukh Seth, Associate Curator, The City Palace Museum, presented his vision in a talk titled "Repurpose Building as Museum in 2047," which focused on the adaptive reuse of historic sites, including the City Palace Museum. Ms. Geetika Kumar, Assistant Curator, The City Palace Museum delivered a presentation entitled "Future Indian Museums: Inclusive Learning for All." Dr. Hansmukh Seth and
