Inspiring Young Minds: World Heritage Day Celebrated at Hansraj Children Home

On World Heritage Day, 18th April 2025, the City Palace Museum organized a vibrant educational event at Hansraj Children Home, Dewali, immersing 37 students in India's rich cultural legacy.

The program opened with a captivating narrative session by Dr. Manish Shrimali, Assistant Professor, Dept. of History, MLS University, Udaipur. Dr. Shrimali's storytelling on Maharana Pratap's life and legacy brought history to life, inspiring students with the values and vision of the legendary ruler. An engaging interactive discussion followed, encouraging students to connect personally with the past.

A highlight of the day was the hands-on activity, "India's Cultural Jigsaw." Facilitated by Ms. Geetika Kumar, Ms. Vatsla, and Mr. Mudit Charles John, this collaborative exercise introduced students to the diverse cultural elements of India's states and Union Territories-spanning traditional dances, regional cuisines, monuments, and clothing styles. The activity fostered teamwork and deepened appreciation for India's cultural diversity.

This celebration not only honored World Heritage Day's spirit of raising awareness about the importance of cultural heritage, but also empowered young participants to become future custodians of India's legacy.

Talk on Royal Weaponry by Dr. Hansmukh Seth for Kalabodh's Anveshan Series

Dr. Hansmukh Seth, Associate Curator at the City Palace Museum, Udaipur, was invited to deliver an online talk on "Royal Weaponry - Amalgamation of Art and Technology with Special Reference to Mewar, South Rajasthan" on 25th April 2025. The session was part of Kalabodh's popular Anveshan series, which explores the roots and evolution of Indian art and heritage.

Kalabodh is an online platform dedicated to promoting Indian arts, culture, and heritage through curated talks, workshops, and educational resources. Its Anveshan series features monthly lectures by experts, offering audiences an opportunity to delve into the development and influences that have shaped Indian art forms over time.
