Shriji won widespread admiration during the event when he opted to sit among the student attendees rather than in the designated VVIP area. He humbly noted, "Treating universities with the same reverence as ancient gurukuls brings deep joy to the heart."

This is not the first time Shriji has been recognized for his academic and social contributions. He was recently awarded an honorary Doctor of Literature (D.Litt.) degree by Ajeenkya D.Y. Patil University, Pune. In 2022, he received a similar honorary D.Litt. from Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur.
