The function was attended by over two thousand members of the community members, including families from the Udaipur division as well as the neighbouring states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh, underscoring the widespread participation and enthusiasm for this sacred project.

Documentation in Action: Winter Interns at the museum

Two interns, Ms. Pratiksha Shome and Mr. Shivanshu Agarwal from the Indian Institute of Heritage, New Delhi joined the Conservation Team at The City Palace Museum, Udaipur for one month as part of their Master's programme in Conservation. Ms. Pratiksha worked on the conservation of 19th-20th century locks and weights from the museum collection, gaining hands-on experience in metal treatment. Mr. Shivanshu conducted documentation and condition assessment of 19th-century murals in Moti Mahal, undertaking multispectral imaging and detailed graphic documentation.

Visit to India Art Fair 2026

From 6th to 8th February 2026, representatives from The City Palace Museum, including Ms. Geetika Kumar (Assistant Curator), Ms. Vatsla (Curatorial Assistant), and Mr. Mudit Charles John (Visitor Liaison Executive), visited the India Art Fair 2026 at the NSIC Exhibition Grounds, Okhla, New Delhi. As one of South Asia's leading platforms for modern and contemporary art, the fair brought together prominent galleries, artists, curators, museum professionals, scholars, and cultural organisations from India and around the world.

The visit provided an important platform for professional networking and offered an opportunity to engage with a wide range of artistic practices, critical conversations, and diverse perspectives. It also opened up possibilities for future collaboration, knowledge exchange, and deeper engagement with current developments in the cultural sector.
