A Global Recognition, A Local Impact
Further strengthening its international standing, The City Palace Museum, Udaipur is proud to be featured on the ICOM Museum Map, making it the only museum in India represented in this global initiative—a distinction that reflects its commitment to excellence in heritage conservation, education and cultural engagement. As part of the International Museum Day celebrations on 16th May 2026, the museum hosted an inspiring textile painting workshop for young girls from Shikshantar NGO. Facilitated by renowned artists Ms. Jaya Solanki and Ms. Divya Bangar, the workshop encouraged participants to draw inspiration from the magnificent architecture, motifs and artistic expressions of The City Palace. Transforming simple fabric bags into vibrant works of art, the young participants expressed their creativity while forging a meaningful connection with Mewar's living heritage. The workshop beautifully embodied the spirit of International Museum Day 2026, demonstrating how museums can inspire imagination, nurture young talent and create inclusive spaces where heritage is experienced, interpreted and celebrated by future generations. |
