All India Museum Summit 2019

The All India Museum Summit 2019, with the financial support from the Embassy of the United States of America, New Delhi, convened a nationwide gathering of museum professionals, including curators, administrators and conservators, as well as supporters and educators, to discuss the roles that museums play in the lives of the people, as also on the means for building institutional capacities to manage collections and resources. The Summit organized by The American Institute of Indian Studies, took place on 22 - 24 July 2019 at the India International Centre, New Delhi. Mr. S. Girikumar presented his paper during the sessions which focused on conservation in which he provided case studies of the photographic storage at The City Palace Museum, Udaipur. Mr. S. Girikumar, Consultant Conservator, MMCF, Dr. Shikha Jain from DRONAH and Dr. Hansmukh Seth, Associate Curator, The City Palace Museum, Udaipur, represented MMCF in this summit.

Museums and the Anthropological Survey of India

The Anthropological Survey of India, Western Regional Centre, Udaipur, organized a meeting with Museum personnel from all over Udaipur on 31st July 2019. Mr. Sukhveer Singh, West Cultural Zone, Udaipur, Ms. Jyoti Mehta, Tribal Research Centre and Museum, Mr. Mohan Shrimali, Haldighati Museum, Prof. Lalit Panday, Rajasthan Vidyapeeth, and many other professionals presented in this meeting. Dr. Hansmukh Seth, Associate Curator, The City Palace Museum, Udaipur presented on the various works and activities undertaken by The City Palace Museum, Udaipur.
