A Glance Into The Past: Journey Of Photography In Mewar On 27th November 2020, the Museum inaugurated a new Online Exhibition titled A Glance Into The Past: Journey Of Photography In Mewar. The exhibitions features select archival photographs from the collection and forms a part of a larger exhibition by the same name, on display at the Museum. It aims to capture the transient journey of photography in Mewar, as also the evolution in its techniques. https://citypalacemuseum.org/exhibition-a-glance-into-the-pastWorkshop - Museum Collections and Visitor Engagement Ms. Chelsea Santos, Assistant Curator at The City Palace Museum, Udaipur has been selected by The Center for Art & Archaeology (CA&A) of the American Institute of Indian Studies (AIIS) for its 5-day Virtual Workshop on Museum Collections and Visitor Engagement (November 30December 4, 2020). This effort of the Centre has been supported by the U.S. Mission to India, New Delhi. The workshop has been developed based on the recommendations of the White Paper that resulted from the U.S. Embassy supported All Indian Museum Summit 2019, and which was presented to the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in November 2019. This U.S.-India Professional Collaboration initiative looks towards sharing U.S. and Indian best practices in Museum curation.The workshop covers documentation and digitization of collections, preventive conservation, conceptualization and execution of exhibitions as well as visitor experience and public engagement.
