A series of events were organized in celebration of the 77th year of India's Independence at the City Palace, Udaipur, from August 12th to 15th, 2023.

Live Sketching

On August 12th, 2023 a live sketching event was organized at the museum premises. Twenty-eight artists from the Urban Sketchers of Udaipur group sketched beautiful scenes from the City Palace Museum on paper and canvas. The artists sketched various parts and scenes of the museum, and some of them also painted their artwork in the colors of the Indian flag.

Mr. Sunil Laddha, a member of the Urban Sketchers of Udaipur group, appreciated the artists' work and boosted their morale. He also visited the City Palace Museum and called it one of the most beautiful historical heritage sites in the world.

Srajan - Arts and Crafts Bazaar

A Srajan - Arts and Crafts Bazaar was also organized at the Zenana Mahal, showcasing various traditional utilitarian and decorative artwork produced by Rajasthani artisans. This included handmade leather shoes, sandals, bags, belts, diaries, wooden toys, decorative items, traditional Rajasthani bandhhej, dupatta, lehenga, Rajasthani lehengas, Pashmina lehengas, and handmade bangles, bracelets, and patlas.

The craftsmen included Mr. Rajesh (Mojri/ Juti), Mr. Sanjay Kumawat Kheradi (Wooden Items), Mr. Sitaram (Traditional Fabric), and Mr. Ramesh (Bangles).

Musical Performance

A musical performance was organized at the Chowmukha, Zenana Mahal. The performers included Mr. Om Prakash Tak on Sitar, Mr. Anil Bhardwaj on Flute, Mr. Vijay Kumar Dhandra on Sarangi, and Mr. Nand Lal Gandharv on Jal Tarang.
