Consecration Ceremony of the Temple of Kuldevi Baan Mataji The village of Ambepura in Jharyana, located in the Dungarpur district, recently witnessed a grand celebration of the Shikhar Sthapana Mahotsav, marking the consecration of the revered temple of Kuldevi Baan Mataji on 24th April, 2024. The event was a vibrant display of devotion and enthusiasm among the villagers. Distinguished by the presence of Mr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, Trustee, MMCF as the Chief Guest, the ceremony began with a warm floral welcome extended by the residents. Mr. Mewar, following the rich Mewari tradition, offered special prayers to Kuldevi Maa Baan Mataji, infusing the occasion with spiritual significance and reverence. As the day transitioned into evening, a soul-stirring bhajan sandhya unfolded, captivating the attendees with the melodious renditions of singer Mr. Chhotu Singh Ravana. His devotional songs, inspired by Maa Durga, resonated through the temple grounds, inspiring the devotees to express their reverence through dance, creating an atmosphere of devotion that lasted well into the night.

Academics Initiatives Internship at MMCF The City Palace Museum, Udaipur hosted Ms. Emma Hartman, 4th-year graduate student at Institute of Fine Arts, New York University, and capstone project participant at Yale Centre for British Art for her internship at the Conservation Lab from February-March 2024. She undertook the project of Conservation of paper stencil art (Sanjhi) and Documentation and conservation of glass plate negatives from the museum collection. She contributed showing, exemplary skills in handling intricate stencil conservation, mutual exchange of ideas with CPM conservator on treatment approaches and new methodologies and close examination and study of Mewar paintings and painted photographs from the museum collection. |
