documenting the painted and printed maps created at the Udaipur Darbar on 26th May 2025. This catalogue thoughtfully organizes its contents by subject, including sections on "Maps and Places: The Painted Image," "Mewar Kingdom and British Topographical Surveys," " City of Udaipur, " "Railway Chronicles: Mapping the Udaipur- Chittorgarh Railway," and provides a comprehensive list of maps held in the City Palace Museum, Udaipur.

This significant publication was produced in collaboration with the Getty Foundation, USA, and is based on the earliest painted and printed maps of Udaipur and Mewar. For the past two decades, the Getty Foundation has supported the Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation through exhibitions, publications, and the preservation of ancient documents. Mewar's dedicated efforts, describing the collection as an invaluable heritage and emphasizing the importance of engaging with such treasures alongside technological advancement.

Dr. Shailka Mishra, editor of the catalogue, highlighted that this work will prove especially useful for researchers and anyone with a keen interest in history. She stressed that each book, painting, document, and historical record is meticulously preserved, making the collection a true treasure trove of historical knowledge and cultural significance.

Shriji Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar also underscored the Foundation's commitment to safeguarding every book, image, document, and historical list in museum collection, affirming its immense value. He noted that extensive research on Indian art and culture is taking place both within India and internationally, with dedicated departments established in many leading foreign universities. Researchers from across the world benefit from the Foundation's research initiatives at the City Palace Museum, Udaipur. Furthermore, paintings created at the Udaipur court in the 17th and 18th centuries have been displayed in international exhibitions and have gained recognition from experts for their historical and cultural importance.

Veer Vinod: Unveiling Mewar's History Through Hindi Translation of Sanskrit Inscriptions

The Hindi translation volume of the Sanskrit prashastis compiled in the grand history of Mewar, Veervinod, was released at the City Palace, Udaipur by Shriji Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar on 02nd June 2024.

Veer Vinod is not merely a chronicle of Mewar's history, but an encyclopedia that places this history within a global context. It was originally composed by Kaviraj Shyamaldas during the reign of Maharana Sajjan Singh ji. Shriji described these records as vital historical evidence , the very essence of history, emphasizing that without such evidence, the authenticity of history can be questioned.

Dr. Madhubala Jain undertook the task of translating the Sanskrit prashastis and accounts in Veervinod into simple yet accurate Hindi, completing this tireless work over the course of approximately one and a half years.
