Celebrating Mewar's Heritage with "Hamara Mewar-Hamara Sanskriti"

On July 07, 2025, Shriji Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar released the quarterly magazine Hamara Mewar-Hamara Sanskriti at the City Palace, Udaipur. Published by Akshay Lokjan, the magazine features insightful articles on the development and expansion of Udaipur, as well as the rich history, art, and culture of Mewar.

As Chariman and Managing Trustee of the Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation, Shriji Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar congratulated the senior members of Akshay Lokjan Sansthan for their efforts and commended their dedication to preserving cultural heritage.

On this occasion, author Mr. Harish Chandra Talreja shared insights on Chachnamah in the context of 7th-century Mewar and presented his book Chach Namah: Report of the Arabs' Attack on Sindh. He also highlighted the works of historian Mullah Abdul Qadir Badayuni, translated into Hindi for the first time from Persian (Taarikheen Badayuni).

3rd Rajasthani Summer School

The City Palace Museum, Udaipur, in collaboration with the Rajasthani Bhasha Academy, the South Asia Institute at the University of Texas at Austin, and the Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation (MMCF), successfully hosted the 3rd Rajasthani Summer School (Mewar Edition) from 16-22 July 2025. This week-long academic initiative brought together distinguished professors, scholars, conservators, and researchers to engage deeply with Rajasthan's linguistic, literary, and cultural traditions.

Over seven enriching days, participants attended lectures by eminent scholars including Prof. Tanuja Kothiyal, Prof. Dalpat Rajpurohit, Prof. Richard Williams, Prof. Cynthia Talbot, Prof. Dipti Khera, and Prof. Madhav Hada. The sessions spanned diverse themes-from early modern Rajasthani prose, Mughal courtly literature, and historical texts such as Nainsi ri Khyat and Dalpat Vilas, to explorations of music, soundscapes, and the narrative imagination of Mewar.
