Meeting on Historical Accuracy in Education

Shriji Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar recently held a significant meeting with Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, India's Education Minister, at the Ministry of Education in Delhi on August 12, 2025,. The discussion centered on the crucial issue of inaccuracies and tampering with historical facts in history textbooks published by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).

Shriji emphasized that history serves as a mirror for future generations, and if distorted or misunderstood, it can lead to lifelong misconceptions. He called for immediate corrections in the textbooks in the national interest and stressed the importance of verifying historical information with a team of subject experts to ensure authenticity and proper referencing.

Presenting his views, Shriji highlighted various inaccuracies and incorrect maps published in the textbooks and shared books showcasing Mewar's illustrious history. In response, Education Minister Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan assured prompt corrective action regarding the maps and a thorough investigation into the historical content.

Shriji also underscored Mewar's historical significance, describing it as synonymous with freedom. He reminded that Maharana Pratap, the courageous originator of the word "freedom," fought fiercely against foreign invaders

like the Mughals for the motherland's independence. Highlighting Mewar's long-standing struggle for independence spanning over 1,500 years, he also acknowledged Maharana Bhupal Singh's notable role in uniting Rajasthan on April 18, 1948.

This meeting marks an important step towards preserving the integrity of India's history for future generations.

The City Palace Museum Represents at National Conference on Udaipur's Heritage

The Department of History, Mohanlal Sukhadiya University, Udaipur, organized a two-day national conference titled "Incredible Udaipur - Heritage, Society and Vision." Dr. Hansmukh Seth (Associate Curator) from the museum team, chaired a session during the conference and spoke about the initiatives and efforts of the museum to document the tangible and intangible heritage of Udaipur and its surroundings.

Ms. Swati Jain (Research Officer) also presented her paper on "Geographical Scenario of Udaipur through Paintings and Maps," highlighting the unique ways in which art and cartography reflect the region's historical landscape.
