Conservation Workshop Ignites Creativity at City Palace Museum

The Conservation team at The City Palace Museum, Udaipur, hosted an inspiring program for Fine Arts students and faculty from Pacific University on January 30, 2026. This event, part of the activity series tied to the exhibition Premarpan: Paintings of Eternal Bonds Beyond Worldly Limits, introduced participants to the rich world of Mewar paintings, including the materials and techniques mastered by traditional court artists.

In an engaging interactive session, conservators shared key laboratory examination techniques. Students explored Multi-spectral Imaging, which uses infrared, ultraviolet, and visible light spectrums to reveal pigments and application methods in historic artworks.

The group then enjoyed a curatorial walkthrough of the Premarpan exhibition, bringing classroom concepts to life through stunning visuals. The day culminated in a hands-on session, where students blended newfound knowledge with their creativity to produce original artworks.
